BSES Greenland 1997

BSES 97

Following the successful expedition to South West Greenland in 1992 BSES proposed a second expedition into this area. It came to Tasermiut Fjord by accident. The original proposal was to visit the head of Sondresermelik, but the reconnaissance attempted in the south foudn that the area and particular glacier was too dangerous and any expedition there would be logistically stretched. Leadership Through The Atlantic (LTTA)

Leg 10 - Halifax to Tromso (via Svalbard)

LTTA

Over a year the yacht Discoverer sailed the breadth of the Atlantic, from the high latitudes and Ice of Antarctica and The Arctic to the sweltering heat and humidity of The Tropics, each leg of this year long journey faced different challenges as successive crews faced the uncertainty, dangers and rewards of ocean sailing. British Army Antarctic Expedition 07-08

BAAE

BAAE 07-08 is the third such expedition in recent years. Continuing the theme, ethos and methodology of its predecessors in 2001 and 2004.

In December 08, 16 soldiers sailed a 67 foot yacht, "Discoverer" from the Falkland Islands to the Antarctic Peninsula. They crossed The Drake Passage, with its deserved reputation as one of the roughest seas in the world, to arrive on the Danco Coast. Relying on their own determination and resource, they will spent the following 2 months building on the work of previous BAAE and other expeditions by exploring this little known area.
